Mental Illness Correlations

Mental illness has been increasing over the years, especially within young adults, who have grown up in a world of screens and social media.

Our dataset uncovered that the highest and lowest correlated variables with mental health as a percentage of the population.

Zip codes in which smokers were most prevalent had the highest correlation with zip codes when people facing mental illness is highest. Lack of and poor physical health closely followed as being highly correlated. On the opposite side, zip codes that have a high portion of people visiting a dentist, high household income and access to private insurance have a strong inverse relationship.
